What is BoostLoL?

BoostLoL is tool that makes your browser address bar much more powerful. It allows you to make commands map to urls (e.g. lol = https://lol.boostchicken.io). Parameters are support also (lolapi = https://lol.boostchicken.io/api/%s) (lolapi status = https://lol.boostchicken.io/api/status). There is also robust URL templating that enables your commands to take arguments. It is inspired by Meta's BunnyLoL, which was inspired by Bunny1. As far as I know, BoostLoL is the only BunnyLol-like SaaS offering.

How do I signup?

Sign In with your Google or Github account. Create a passkey on your Profile and then you can authentication with that as well.

How do I signin with a passkey?

Click on the key icon in the top right corner of the navigation bar. You will be prompted to enter your passkey. If you do not have a passkey, you can create one on your Profile

How do I configure my browser to use BoostLoL

Default Command

If you execute a command that does not exist, BoostLoL will default to a Google search. Even with BoostLoL installed and set as default, the search bar behaves as it did before installation.

Roadmap

Can I share my Search URL with anyone?

Yes! The Search URL is unique to your configuration and can be utilized by anyone without creating a BoostLoL account.

Is BoostLoL open source? Can I self host?

BoostLoL is not open source or self-hostable. I have not made decisions on monetization and until I do it will remain closed source. If you really need the source code / self-hosting, contact me via my email with a justification. Please include your GitHub and DockerHub usernames so that if approved I can grant you access.

No, techincally voca.sprintf (which is printf-like) is used. Only %s is tested in URL Templates, feel free to try other specifiers

Where is BoostLoL hosted?

CDN: Cloudflare, App Server: Private Datacenter (SoCal), Database: AWS
